When you put the beauty of the Welsh countryside together with a talented photographer/ videographer (Chris Davies) and a world class adventurer (Manu Bustelo), throw in a couple of Mountain bikes and a route running from Prestatyn to Cadair Idris, you end up with the perfect recipe for a Mountain Bike Adventure in Wales. The wonderful video created by Chris which is the second in their Mountain Bike Adventures series.
In the film Chris and Manu take their bikes and explore the places that are maybe a little lesser known to the non locals and mountain bike lovers, this isn’t a film just about Mountain biking, this is a film of culture, landscapes and passion. This is North Wales at it’s very finest.
After the two had got together and formulated a plan for the route they’d take they set off from Bodfari in North Wales, just a step in from the North Wales Coastline.
Taking in the humid and tranquil Clwydian Range, Chris snapped some beautiful shots that can be seen at http://www.sidetracked.com/mountain-bike-adventure-wales/ . Winding their way through valleys and hills the two say they had fun and were impressed with the quality of trails that unfolded in front of them.
The imposing Llantysilio mountain was day 2’s obstacle as they burst out West tackling gates and bracken, laughing at the bilingual road signs that made little sense to them in English or Welsh.
Battling on towards Trawsfynydd and the Coed-y-Brenin Forest in search of that climactic finale they’d promised themselves – the crowning glory of Cadair Idris. A formidable mountain scape which legend says is the Chair of Idris, a giant who used the mountain as his chair to sit back and gaze out at the stars.
With spills and falls along the way these two adventurers bring the exhilaration and excitement of their travels into your home / office or wherever it is you are sitting watching the film.
Ending up in the town of Barmouth they could reflect on 5 days of wonder and appreciate all that is the very best of North Wales.
Great thanks to Chris for images and help.
