MBwales.com rebrand with new website and Wales’ first all 4k adventure video

Here at www.extremenorthwales.com we’ve long been fans of the exceptional video and production skills of Chris Davies and his team at Eastwood Media.

Those of you not familiar with Chris or Eastwood may still have seen his previous work such as his superb Mountain Bike Adventure films set in Wales and Malta.

So when Chris got in touch telling us about his latest project we were stoked to get an advance preview of the film he’s helped put together for MBWales.com

MBWales.com is the fresh face of mountain biking in Wales.
They’ve had an online presence for some time but with Mountain Biking at an unprecedented high in popularity and 2016 being the Year of Adventure it was time for a refresh.

Funded through Visit Wales’ Tourism Product Innovation Fund, the project has been managed by Denbighshire County Council on behalf of the MBWales group.

Over the last three months, MBWales has undergone a complete rebranding with a new logo and an impressive new website with all the information you need to plan your next adventure in Wales. We’re hugely impressed with the amount of work these guys have got through in that time. We know the amount of time and effort that goes into a brand design and site build and all we can say is that the team must have put in some serious hours over the past 3 months!

The website features route maps and downloads for trail centres and natural trails throughout the country making it easy to find the ideal route for you as you can search by grade, distance or location.

The interactive mapping will help you find everything else you might need for your trip too, the best accommodation, the best Welsh food and drink, the best mountain bike guides, coaches, bike hire and mechanics. They really seem to have covered all the bases.

This basically becomes a must have resource for planning and navigating your Mountain Bike adventures in Wales.

Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, Ken Skates, said: “The launch of the new look MBWales website is an exciting addition to the Year of Adventure and will showcase the fantastic mountain bike trails we have in Wales and makes searching for a Mountain Biking holiday in Wales very easy – it’s a one stop shop for Mountain Biking.”

Chris Davies and his team at Eastwood Media have been commissioned  to make a film with the brief to “Showcase Wales as a destination for Mountain Biking”, having viewed the film we can honestly say . . . . . . . mission accomplished. And thanks to Chris and MBWales we’re able to show the video below.

The team have worked hard to capture some of the best parts of the country visiting trail centres and natural trails. In keeping with Visit Wales’ Year of Adventure 2016, the film follows a number of adventures across a day in Wales. Eastwood Media are licensed for aerial filming and have used their drones to capture some simply stunning footage of Wales from above. The whole film is produced in glorious 4k ultra high-definition to really show off Wales in detail.

When talking to Chris Davies regarding the project he said “We’re pretty sure this is the first Mountain Bike film, maybe even adventure film, made in Wales which is shot entirely in 4K Ultra High Definition.”

It’s going to attract some fantastic attention to the MBWales relaunch and is a fantastic advert for Wales as a Mountain Bike Haven.
